I am a huge fan of Burt's Bees and think it's a totally underrated brand. My single favourite product of theirs is their lip balms, which you'll know if you read my Top Lip Balms post last October, where I declared Burt's Bees Pomegranate lip balm to be my ultimate number one lip balm ever.
Since then, though, I've tried a few more lip balms in the range, so I thought I'd let you know why I love each one so much.
Pomegranate
It's a bold statement to declare my favourite lip balm ever when I own and love so many, but I still stand by that statement and I'll remind you (not for the first time) that I bought ten back-ups of this when I was in America - it's cheaper over there. This doesn't feel as 'slippy' as most other balms, it's quite firm but I absolutely love it. The pomegranate scent is laced with something quite herbal, almost like herbal tea.
Honey
Mmm! This one's my preference on those sweet-tooth days. Very much a similar consistency to the Pomegranate one, but whilst the honey scent is really distinctive it doesn't have much of a taste.
Pink Grapefruit
This is the newest addition to the Burt's Bees lip balm family, and it's super refreshing. The scent reminds me of gulping down an ice-cold glass of pink grapefruit squash on a summer day - much appreciated considering the recent weather. The texture of this one is more slippy than the other two, and it's quite glossy on the lips.
Honeysuckle (Tinted)
I didn't even realise that Burt's Bees had tinted lip balms until I got this one in a bag from a press event for Monsoon ages ago. Ignoring the pointless, big cardboard outer tube this comes in, I absolutely love it! It's the same sort of consistency as the Pink Grapefruit one, offering a slightly glossy finish and a pretty sheer nude colour. Very nice!
There's actually a whole ton of other lip balms that I'm yet to try. They're not a terrible addiction to have either, costing £3.89 each (the tinted ones are £5.99). Aside from the Burt's Bees website, I've seen them in some larger Boots stores, John Lewis and Waitrose. I think the next addition to my collection will be this Keepsake Trio for £9.99, it's comprised of 3 that I haven't tried yet - the original Beeswax one, the Acai Berry one and the Mango Butter one. Yummy!

I think the cardboard tube of the tinter versions are useless but oh they are pretty! That pink grapefruit one sounds really good, I like a bit more slip in my balms than the regular BB ones so thanks for telling us about the difference :)
ReplyDeleteMy friend is absolutely obsessed with this brand, she has shower gels and everything, I've never actually tried it because of the price but I think I'll give the pomegranate one a go after reading such a positive review :) x

I've tried so many of their lipbalms and I've decided that Beeswax,Pomegranete and Pink Grapefruit are the best things ever x
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Burt's Bees lipbalms are awesome! I have Açai Berry, Honey and Mango, and I love them. Natural, well scented, long-lasting... A must have.
